Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
MEASUREMENT Approx 12" [30.5 cm] diameter.
MATERIALS
- Set of four size 4.5 mm (U.S. 7) double pointed knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge.
- Lily Sugar’n Cream (Solids: 70.9 g/2.5 oz; 109 m/120 yds)
- Main Color (MC) (00001 White) 1 ball
- Lily Sugar’n Cream (Stripes: 56.7 g/2 oz; 86 m/95 yds)
- Contrast A (21732 Pinky Stripes) 2 balls
- Contrast B (21712 Lime Stripes) 1 ball
GAUGE 20 sts and 26 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.
Instructions Base With MC, cast on 4 sts. 1st rnd: Inc 1 st in each st around. Divide 8 sts onto 3 needles (3, 3, 2). Join in rnd, placing marker on first st. 2nd, 4th and 6th rnds: Knit. 3rd rnd: *K1. M1. Rep from * around. 16 sts. 5th rnd: *K2. M1. Rep from * around. 24 sts. 7th rnd: *K3. M1. Rep from * around. 32 sts. 8th rnd: Purl. 9th rnd: *K4. M1. Rep from * around. 40 sts. 10th, 12th and 14th rnds: Knit. 11th rnd: *K5. M1. Rep from * around. 48 sts. 13th rnd: *K6. M1. Rep from * around. 56 sts. 15th rnd: *K7. M1. Rep from * around. 64 sts. 16th rnd: Purl. 17th rnd: *K8. M1. Rep from * around. 72 sts. 18th, 20th and 22nd rnds: Knit. 19th rnd: *K9. M1. Rep from * around. 80 sts. 21st rnd: *K10. M1. Rep from * around. 88 sts. 23rd rnd: *K11. M1. Rep from * around. 96 sts. 24th rnd: Purl. 25th rnd: *K12. M1. Rep from * around. 104 sts. 26th, 28th and 30th rnds: Knit. 27th rnd: *K13. M1. Rep from * around. 112 sts. 29th rnd: *K14. M1. Rep from * around. 120 sts. 31st rnd: *K15. M1. Rep from * around. 128 sts. 32nd rnd: Purl. Cast off.
1st Ruffle With A and pair of needles, cast on 3 sts. **1st row: (RS). K2. Sl1. Pick up and knit into first purl st of 8th rnd of Base. psso. 2nd and alt rows: Knit to last st. Inc 1 st in last st. 3rd row: K3. Turn. 5th row: K4. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 7th row: K5. Turn. 9th row: K6. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 11th row: K7. Turn. 13th row: K8. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 15th row: K9. Turn.
Cont as follows: 17th row: K9. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 18th and alt rows: Knit to last 2 sts. K2tog. 19th row: K8. Turn. 21st row: K7. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 23rd row: K6. Turn. 25th row: K5. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 27th row: K4. Turn. 29th row: K3. Sl1. Pick up and knit into next purl st of 8th rnd. psso. 31st row: K2. Turn. 32nd row: Knit.** Rep from ** to ** 3 times more (all purl sts of 8th rnd have been worked).
2nd Ruffle With A and pair of needles, cast on 3 sts. Rep from ** to ** 8 times, working into sts of 16th rnd of Base. Cast off.
3rd Ruffle With A and pair of needles, cast on 3 sts. Rep from ** to ** 12 times, working into sts of 24th rnd of Base. Cast off.
4th Ruffle With B and pair of needles, cast on 3 sts. Rep from ** to ** 16 times, working into sts of 32nd rnd of Base. Cast off.
FINISHING Sew cast on and cast off ends of Ruffles tog.
